The Forgotten Forest V0.2
A downloadable game
The Forgotten Forest is a game where you play as a person that crashes into a forest where no one lives anymore. With nothing around for miles you must find a way to get help and leave!
This is my first project on Unity and hope you all have fun and enjoy!
EDITORS NOTE:
There is a newer version of this game that includes a checkpoint system that makes it easier to play through the game and not restart after every death

I enjoyed this apart from one thing, the fact there were no checkpoints!! That really killed the game for me as it meant there was SO much repetition when you died. If you add checkpoints in a later update I will definitely play this again though!

I had a few problems or bugs and while few they were pretty big. I know I would absolutely love this If I didn't encounter any problems. It's obvious you put a lot of passion into The Forgotten Forest with the sounds, map layout, and events.

Thank you for all of the great feedback and I apologize for the game being buggy. The game is complete but there are also more bugs than I anticipated and I am trying to fix them all as quickly as I can.
I hope to get more refined versions out sooner and would love to see another video of you playing the game when it is complete!

Where is the digging hole?
the digging spot is inside of the swamp on the middle island
The screenshot's graphics do look awesome in details and quality, while I prefer webbased games in browser, still the environment looking that aesthetic/realistic got me rating the best star-amount in that case, and it would be cool if there could be even another release for playing it online too (especially for windows on a laptop/computer)?
Awesome thank you! I'm glad you like the way the game looks! I worked hard on that and wanted a more realistic look rather than a cartoony looking one.
As for the online version are you referring to a browser version or online with other people?
You're welcome and so far I didn't play it yet, because I just prefer playing browsergames only. But I didn't know that it's also including a feature for multiplayers there too? At least it sounds cool and I guess if players like downloads especially also graphical-based types, they could adore your game.
it won’t have multiplayer. This is just a single player game I was confused on what you were referring too

Would it be okay getting curious why not updating the same file e.g. getting its prev. version hidden from download-section and just sharing its newer version than publishing it as upgrade/new game-release?
I'm not to familiar with how itch uploads their games. On this one I deleted the first version then uploaded the second one and for V 0.3 I actually just made a new page. I know theres a way to use the butler but I'm not familiar with that yet. Sorry if this lead to any problems!
I was just generally wondering. In my case I uploaded a file as game (in html), so it's a webgame and I didn't try how downloads would look like yet. Still there's an edit-button, where you could update the description also its file and getting the prev. version saved but invisible to users (not marked as download-file there). If you like I could let you know about closer info on discord-pm's about how to update game-versions on itch-platform?
How can you put skull in the grave?
once you get the skull you’re supposed to place it on the main grave the same way you grab items and it will place it for you
If you die you have to start from the beginning
please improve this
I will! I was thinking about making a checkpoint system in the next update to help stop that problem! I'll definitely let you know when that happens.
